Marvin Ezra Ausherman, a native of Frederick County, received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Miami University of Ohio in 1974.

Marvin then joined his father in the family’s residential home building business. He eventually took the reins of the company until it was sold to Drees Homes in 2003. Marvin had a successful career as a second-generation residential home builder/developer, completing 30 communities and 5,000 homes over 40 years. For the past 15 years, Marvin has been a commercial developer/investor and devotes much of his time to the family’s philanthropic endeavors. He created the Ausherman Family Trust in 2000 and the Ausherman Family Foundation in 2006.

Marvin has and always will be involved in many Frederick County organizations and projects for the betterment of the Frederick community. He has served on the County’s Affordable Housing Council as chair and on the Boards of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, the Community Foundation of Frederick County, YMCA of Frederick County, Federated Charities, Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County, Frederick Health, Frederick Community College, and others. He is the founder of BlueRidge Bank, a local Frederick County community bank, and also a member and Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club of Frederick.

Jeremy Holder joined Ausherman Properties after receiving his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Maryland in 1995. He has been involved with all aspects of the residential development process, including acquisition, entitlement, design, construction management, builder contract negotiations, builder relations, and homeowner’s association oversight.

Jeremy has been very active with the Frederick County Land Use Council for more than 15 years and recently completed a term as president. Jeremy serves as a trustee with the Ausherman Family Foundation. The diverse responsibilities required to plan and oversee Ausherman communities located in Frederick and Washington Counties have allowed him to invest deeply in understanding the local consultants, government process, policies, and the political landscape critical to a successful development transaction.

Andrew Welker joined Ausherman Properties in 2017. He is involved in all aspects of the commercial development process, including acquisition, entitlement, design, construction management, leasing, and asset management. Andrew gained much of his development and construction experience while working for nine years with a regional commercial office real estate investment trust in Columbia, Md. Andrew earned a bachelor’s degree from the Smeal College of Business at Pennsylvania State University. Andrew is also a graduate of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School and has resided in Frederick County since 1985.

Laura Lebo is the controller of Ausherman Development Corporation, Ausherman Family Foundation, and Ausherman Family Trust. She received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish, minoring in business and accounting, from McDaniel College in Westminster, Md. Laura then moved to Frederick County with her husband, where she began her career in public accounting, working for McGladrey & Pullen, LLP. She joined Ausherman Development Corporation in 2010 and completed her CPA certification in 2015.

 Laura resides in Walkersville with her husband and children. She is a member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Walkersville.

Jonathan Pembroke joined Ausherman Properties in 2003. He manages the engineering and construction of the public and private infrastructure improvements required for buildable residential lots for local, regional, and national home builders. He is closely involved in the feasibility and entitlement processes of the residential projects and sits on the Board of Directors for most of the community HOAs. Jonathan gained invaluable experience as a member of a land development consulting firm in Northern Virginia and manager of operations for a utility construction company. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland.

Kellam joined Ausherman Properties in 2024. He is responsible for all aspects of executing commercial construction projects. This role encompasses site development, ground-up building construction, tenant improvements, and capital expenditures. Before joining the Ausherman team, Kellam gained valuable experience while working with a general contractor. Throughout the DMV area, he has managed a variety of different commercial projects to include healthcare, flex industrial, corporate interiors, and ground-up construction. Kellam has a BA & MBA degree from Shenandoah University.

Katie joined Ausherman Properties in June of 2021 as the Associate Office Manager supporting the residential team. She graduated from Stevenson University with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Business Administration, and previously received her Associate's degree in Interior Design. Katie lives in New Market with her husband, cat, and golden retriever puppy.

Sue joined the Ausherman Properties in July 2020 as Project Coordinator. She handles administration of the company’s leasing and marketing efforts and supports project development, entitlement processing, construction budget tracking and other planning. Sue has an extensive background in communications including marketing, brand strategy and organization and has been building her knowledge of the real estate and property management industries.

Susan joined the Ausherman team in September 2016 providing administrative support to the Founder and President, Marvin Ausherman. Her career includes over 20 years of combined experience as a legal secretary. Susan resides in Frederick County with her husband and children. She enjoys spending time with her family and cheering them on in baseball and gymnastics.

Renee joined the Ausherman team in September 2012 as the Senior Accountant. She graduated from University of Maryland University College with a Bachelor’s in Accounting. Her career includes over 25 years of combined experience as a public and private accountant. Renee resides in Frederick County with her husband and dogs.

William “Joe” joined the Ausherman team in July of 2023 as a Staff Accountant. Joe comes to us with 20+ years of bookkeeping & accounting experience, both public and private, mostly in the bio tech field. Joe is a relatively new resident to Frederick but is enjoying the new lifestyle and culture with his wife, dogs, and cat.

Menzi joined the Ausherman team in January of 2023 as the Accounts Payable Specialist. He graduated from Hood College with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, focusing on Accounting, Finance and Marketing. He is an accounting professional with experience in banking, manufacturing, and construction within Frederick County.

Menzi lives in the city of Frederick with his wife, two cats and dog.
